"I am not your everyday traditional politician" - Michael A. Novak

I am the type of person who speaks up even if it is not politically correct. I do not care about being politically correct. I only care about what is correct. Representing the people of Spokane and Eastern Washington is what is correct. When I am elected, I will be a loud and clear voice for Spokane and Eastern WA. I will not hide and be afraid to speak up if Spokane is not getting what is promised to them.

I have many ideas that can be done to help everybody in Spokane and Eastern WA.

  1. A college student loan incentive repayment program.

  • If a college student graduates college with a 3.0 and stays to work in Washington state, we payback a percentage of their student loan.  This program will do 2 things.  It will increase our economy and work force.  It will also encourage more people to go to college to better their lives.
  1. No more taxes.  We are being taxed beyond belief.  Businesses are being taxed almost into bankruptcy.  Especially  small businesses.  People are being taxed for everything.  The gas tax and the added $20 for the Vehicle Registration is suppose to go to fix our roads.  Well why are our roads still a disaster?  Since our roads are still a disaster, why are we paying the tax?  I am a person that likes to see a return on our investments.
  1. Why did our public schools have a $10.5 million dollar deficit this year?  We have a Democrat State House, State Senate, and Governor.  All three sections say they are for public education and they will never be ignored.  Well here in Eastern Washington we have been ignored again.  Also why are our public schools not tax exempt?  All of the taxes we pay are suppose to cover those taxes.  Now I know that the Lotto funds were suppose to be spent on our public schools.  I would like to see what percentage of those funds go to our schools.  I think this should be made public.

The WASL is not working the way everybody thought it should. Teachers, parents, and experts on public education are agreeing that the Math and Science portions of WASL are not working at all. I believe that in order to fix this program that we need to let the teachers have a huge hand in the development of the program. After all they are the ones teaching our children. Not the politicians.
  1.  The outsourcing of our jobs to other countries is not putting us first.  This is costing us jobs.  We need to reward companies for keeping their offices here and hiring Americans.  We should not be forcing them to go overseas to find cheaper labor.
  1. Washington State is known as the evergreen state.  So the environment is a huge issue for me.  We have a lot of property that is contaminated.  Well I have worked out a program with a gentleman by the name of Tom Sparley.  He decontaminated the Kendal Yard project site in 2005.  He hauled out tons of contaminated soil.  What he did was hire local companies only to do the work.  So why can we not have a clean environment and job growth at the same time?  It can be done.

  2. I strongly believe in and will fight for Affordable Housing for the people of Spokane and Eastern WA.

  3. I will sponsor a bill that will grant each county to keep the tax money collected.  For example, most of Spokane’s tax money collected goes to Seattle.  I will make it where tax money collected stays in Spokane.  So therefore each county is responsible for their own income and tax.  After all, it is only fair.
